Hi I installed the plug in but I am stuck on:
Folder mysite.com/wpbackup wasn't created, check permissions.

Obviously I am not setting this right. I tried many different configs but I cant get past this. So if my site was called:
mysite.com how would I enter that into the field?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Dan

I like to have WP-DB-Backup save the backups in the wp-content folder and that may require 777 permissions with your hosting.

    See Changing File Permissions.

So what would I enter in the field if my site was mysite.com
    would it be http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/contentfolder/

    Or http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/contentfolder/

    or http://www.mysite.com/httdocs/wordpress/contentfolder/

See this is where I am getting confused.

WP-DB-Backup doesn't allow me to set the field where the backup is saved. It defaults to wp-content/backup-xxxx unless there's a WP_CONTENT_DIR in wp-config.php.

o.k I must retarded. Could you simply explain what to type in the field:

I put a folder called backup in the wp-content but when I put int
backup or backup/ or /backup I still get an error.

When you activate that plugin it should create the folder.

then why would it have an empty field? and why would it ask me to fill it out?

Obviously something is wrong and that is why I am here. It is asking for an export directory it did not create one.

Please provide a link to download that plugin. I'm not seeing an 'export' type field.

    Also what version of WordPress?

Okay that's the DBC-Backup not the WP-DB-Backup so I changed the topic title to reflect that.

That plugin is looking for the full path to to whatever folder you want to put the backups in. In my case the path I had to specify was

    /home/michael/public_html/jmdbc.com/wp-content/backups

Interesting, if you install and activate http://wordpress.org/tags/wp-db-backup it will tell you the full path.

Thanks I switched to the WP-DB-Backup and it installed no problems.

    Thanks again.
