WP Customer Reviews
[resolved] Not writing entries to database (9 posts)

I have WP Customer reviews running successfully on a couple of sites, but I'm having an issue with a new site. Everything looks fine from the front end. The form can be filled in and submitted and the confirmation message appears on screen that the review has been submitted for approval. An email goes out to the site owner to say that there is a review pending approval, but nothing is being added to the database and therefore no reviews appear in the pending queue in the back end. The table for reviews has been added to the database successfully at installation, but nothing is being written to it. I'm using WordPress 3.2.1 and version 2.3.3 of the plugin. The only thing I can think of that is different from the sites where it works (they're even on the same shared server) is that the theme is based on the Default Child Theme from iThemes Builder.

    all return....

    I open customer review

no pending review and the links above show me "zero"
    Pending (0) |
    Approved (0) |
    Trash (0)

but if I click on approved - I saw all reviews...

I don't understand, but they are in my database ;)

So all of the number show 0, but you click on Approved, etc and then you can see the reviews? Odd, but I'm guessing it is some type of bug. I'm not seeing it on my end.

Are you using a multi-site setup, or anything different than a normal WP install? Once I can pinpoint it, it should be an easy fix.

This isn't the same problem as I'm having. In my case the entries are definitely not being written to the database.

OK, I'm a bit surprised to have come in and found this topic marked resolved. Is anyone able to offer support/suggestions for my issue?

The topic is showing up as unresolved for me.

I could do some debugging on the site that is having issues if you want me to. I'd need access to the WP admin area to be able to do that. If you could, send me an email to the email address listed on the plugin settings page.. I'll do what I can to find the issue and resolve it.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

Hi Aaron. I changed it to unresolved when I posted my last entry here.

I want to thank you for getting back to me and for your offer to troubleshoot. I was going to take you up on that and logged into the backend of my client's site to create a temporary Admin account for you, when I noticed that you'd updated the plugin yesterday, so I thought I'd better try updating it first. It works! Whatever you did between 2.3.3 and the current version fixed it. There will be a donation winging it's way to you when the client pays me.

You can now consider this topic resolved :)
