Is there a way to have a tag cloud per category with only tags from that cat showing? Id like to do it by widget then use the widget logic to determine where it shows. I have alot of tags and its looking messy so will be bettter categrorised.

WP-Cumulus uses the output from WordPress' wp_tag_cloud function as input. It is therefore limited to what that template function can do. Unfortunately, per-category tags is currently not a feature in WordPress as far is I know.
