• I user User Role Editor to set up different layers of membership access to my site.

For example I have 4 tiers of membership, each with increasing levels of admin access, e.g. Developer, TechLead, ProjectManager, ProductOwner.

To be forced to use one specific role defined by your plug-in isn’t very clever (sorry, but that’s how I feel about it right now).

So my question is, can the WP Client File Share plug-in be made to work with one or more different roles witin my WP setup? I can see how to change it to work with ONE role of my choice, but not with multiple roles as described above.

Before anyone shouts me down for not knowing my PHP, I’m a content manager, not a developer 😉

The plugin was developed to share files with the admin and a specific role. Clever or not, it does what it says it will do. The video I have posted explains the simplicity of it all. I’m sorry it does not do what you need.

The plugin could be modified to do what you need to do but that would have to be billable time.

I think we have it working now.

Please remember I am a content manager and not a developer – we change the “file sharer” role throughout the code for the role we wanted to use in our set up. This role has all the same rights as your code sets for the default role, so this worked just fine.

We have hundreds of registered users and want to roll out this service to them, but I don’t think they would be too happy with a separate account.

My final question (and it is the final question) is why the page(s) can’t be be made for existing users?

As for billing you to make this work, I wish we could – but we are a charity.

    Thanks for your help anyway.
