Google's new +1 (a.k.a. Plus One) social button came out a few hours ago. I spent these past hours adding the +1 button to my plugin, WP Buttons. It can be downloaded from the WordPress directory here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-buttons/

In addition to the +1 button, I added a bunch of other cool features to WP Buttons. The coolest one in my opinion, is displaying the buttons after everything else is loaded. Download the latest version and try it out!

Here's a description of the +1 button, directly from Google:

The +1 button is shorthand for "this is pretty cool" or "you should check this out."

Click +1 to publicly give something your stamp of approval. Your +1's can help friends, contacts, and others on the web find the best stuff when they search.

Tell me what you think! Since this is a new feature, feedback is very important! :)

Just installed the new version of Google +1 and it is working great!

That being said, Yahoo! Buzz appears to not work, or at least the icon is not displaying properly (in admin settings and on the posts/pages).

I'm seeing it in my DEV and Prod environment so I wanted to check if this was my issue, or a more widespread and/or known issue?

    Thanks!

It could be because Yahoo Buzz's bot has to access the admin settings page to display the button. It will be unable to access the admin settings page because it requires the user/bot to be logged in as an admin.

I remember it was working before, it could be that Yahoo changed their script. I will look into it and let you know.

I was hoping you had added this new feature! I was a little confused at first because of the plugin name change though.

Unfortunately the +1 button is not working for me. I know you say it's glitchy, and I can confirm this. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out soon.

Thanks for a great product and expect a donation when I get my next paycheck!

Here's an interesting development. I installed one of the other +1 plugins to see if I could get it to go in line with the already present buttons from yours and although I couldn't accomplish that, the +1 button now shows! I'm keeping the other plugin active, but just not automatically posting so I don't loose the button. Hopefully this helps you narrow down the problem.

Thanks for info! This narrows it down to a Javascript or CSS problem. I should be able to fix it soon.

@skippybosco: It turns out that Yahoo! Buzz was closed because they could not make a profit from it. I will remove the Yahoo! Buzz button.

    Glad I could help!

Oh, while I'm thinking about it. There is an awful lot of padding around the +1 button on my site. Not sure why since the rest seem to be fine. You can see it here: http://aftercredits.com/2011/06/x-men-first-class-2011/

And also, just an fyi, the settings page for the plugin hangs up for about a minute before loading the rest of the settings. I've tried it on two different computers using multiple browsers btw.

Thanks again for the great plugin!
