WP Biographia
[resolved] Adding Wp-biographia plugin to author template (3 posts)

I created a author.php since my theme doesn't have one. Now I need the plugin to appear on the top of that page the same way it does for my posts. I can't use the add biographia box for author archive option since it then adds to each and every post. I only need it for the top of the author template.

Also the bottom of the box has some unused space between the icons and the bottom margin. I need to make the box more slimmer. How can I do that?

    Thanks

This is pretty straightforward to do and it's exactly what I've done for the author archives on my site; see http://www.vicchi.org/author/gary/ for a working example.

What you need to do is queue the first post so you know who the archive page is for and so that the correct WordPress data structures are correctly set up. Then you can display the Biography Box via the do_shortcode WordPress API call and finally rewind the Loop so that the template can (re)run for the author's archive posts.

Take a look at the top of the source of my theme's author.php to see how this is done; see https://github.com/vicchi/twentyten-vicchi/blob/master/author.php - you should be able to copy and paste this "as is".

If you want to change the styling of the Biography Box's CSS then this article should help you ... http://www.vicchi.org/codeage/wp-biographia/hacking-wp-biographias-appearance-with-css/
