[Plugin: WP Academic People List] 2 issues: 404 Error for Details and No Category Selection

    Hello,

    This looks like a very promising plugin; but I am experiencing two issues:

    Issue 1) I’m receiving a 404 “Not Found” Error when I click on the “Details…” link from People List. The People List IS showing the people and their basic information (Job, Website, Email); but trying to view their individual profiles results in a 404 Error.

    Issue 2) It doesn’t seem like there is a way to associate categories with the people. I am able to add categories under “Academic People > People Categories” but the “Category” field within “Users > Academic Information” is greyed out.

    UPDATE

    Issue 1) To be sure there wasn’t some conflict with other plugins or database content; I performed a CLEAN INSTALL of WordPress to re-test this plugin.
    On the clean install version, “Issue 1” was resolved.

    Issue 2) Also, I have now found out how to assign members to categories — it’s a matter that a member cannot assign him/herself to a category. It seems that an administrator must assign the members to categories via “Academic People > Academic People > Edit an Academic Profile”

    So, I think I’ve solved both issues! Hope this information helps someone else.

    1) This error is still an issue. I have consistently replicated the error and found that “Academic People” plugin does not work properly with Permaliks. There is some kind of problem with handling and creating or finding user sites and delivers 404 error.

    Copernicus… when re-intalling the blog did you have permalinks activated? cheers
