Hello, I am entering a link in the WordTube, Layout, Skin file box ie. http://www.mywebsite.com/lulu.zip

It says "URL of a SWF skin file with the player graphics" is this they way you are supposed to enter in your url for the new skins that use xml?

Please help, I have licensed both the jw player and skin, but still doesn't work. I would like to use WordTube. Thanks!

    Hi,

I had a similar problem with skins and probably found an answer for me which may help you as well.

Having downloaded Skins from longtailvideo.com today resulted (after unzipping) in a folder with an <Skin>.XML-file plus some other folders with resources (mostly pictures etc.). I could not address this in an appropriate way in the WordTube-Settings.

However, when checking my other (older) blogs where I am using a simple "Flash Video" plugin with skins, I found out that the old skins simply contained a <Skin>.SWF-file. Copying those into the upload folder and specifying this particular (single) SWF-file did the trick: the player is now "skinned".

And another addition to that: re-checking the longtailvideo.com website I found that for many players there are two skin versions available (usually version 1 compatible with JW Player 4.x & 5.x // version 2 compatible starting JW Player 5.x only).

Downloading the version 1 (which works for JW Player 4 and 5) includes the swf-file needed to skin the WordTube player.

    Hi binomsc and camronelli
Thanks for your advice and tips. It works for me on my blog after following your hints. Download the Flash Video Plugin for WordPress and look for the skin folder and its subfolder. It contains the skin swf required files to be included on wordtube plugin setting skin page.

Upload those skins file to the web server and insert the URL where you upload the files on your wordtube settings. Have a try, then!

    Regards..

    Hi all...
Just to share a tip : To get the skin works for this plugin, just download the latest version (v2.0) and unzip the files. Some skins has child folder and grandchild folder as well. Look for the grandchild folder which has the particular 'skin.xml' file in it.

Upload that 'grandchild folder' to your web server and insert the URL for particular 'skin.xml' which you interested in using them on your wordtube plugin (I mean, your wordpress site) e.g [ http://yoursite.com/skinfolder/youruploadskin/particularskin.xml ] into your wordtube plugin setting.

Test it out.Hope it works as shown on my site here : my blog using wordtube plugin . I'm using glow skin as an example.

    Best regards..
    Sam
