gudlyfI dig the idea of giving all WP users an easy way to use shortlinks, but my site already uses custom shortlinks, and having the WP Stats button confuses my writers. Also, it automatically adds meta data to every post with the wp.me shortlink, when we don't use them nor do we want them.
Please add an option to disable all shortlink capability for sites like ours who love the stats plugin but don't want the shortlinks. For now I've manually commented out the code in the plugin, but obviously I'd rather not have to do that in every release.
