   Hello, I've searched everywhere and can't find a solution to the issue I'm having.

   I'm trying to install WordPress.com Stats and keep getting the following error when I enter my API key:

   The API key "####" belongs to the WordPress.com account of "asdf". If this is not your account, please re-enter your API key.

   According to the WordPress.com database, this API key is already associated with at least one self-hosted blog. You can add this as a new blog on your WordPress.com account or replace an existing blog andinherit its stats history.

   LINK: Add new blog to my account

   Do this if this blog is new or has never been associated with your API key. This blog will be added to your WordPress.com account.

   I've created a new wordpress.com account for a brand new API key and am still getting this error. When I click on 'Add new blog to my account' I'm given this error:

   Error from last API Key attempt: Missing API Key

   I've searched on adding a blog to wordpress.com and can't find anything either.

   Any suggestions?

   I have this problem too; what's the solution if there is one? I tried to enable and disable the plugin several times, I tried also to delete it and reupload it but nothing happens. what's going on? thanks!

   I'm having exactly the same problem. It seems nobody knows how to solve it. Is there any way to get WordPress Stats working?

   it wokred perfectly for me (only that i have 2 wordpress.com users i accidently registered).

   There are quite a number of active threads (besides this one) on this API key problem.

   I have several independent blogs and several wordpress.com accounts.
   I could not get the plugin working. Even not with brandnew blogs and
   brandnew accounts. Always this API key problem. I have abandoned the plugin and use an alternative.

   I think the developers of this plugin should seriously consider withdrawing the plugin or get their act together and solve the problem.
