Might be a stupid question but I don't see a text box to add keywords to the META tags. I just see title and description. Will keywords be added so we can use the %%tag%% variable?

That's deliberate. Joost's answer on his site to this question was: "No, meta keywords is not needed for any major search engine anymore, so they don't get added."
