Recently installed plugin and the options are great, but noticed an issue with duplicate canonical tags appearing on post pages. Anyone else observed this particular issue? One is assigned by the plugin, but I can’t fore the life of me figure out where the other is coming from.

    Anyone else observed this?

    Thanks.

I found the problem. It wasn’t in the plugin, and my theme author said it wasn’t in the theme, but a function in WordPress that causes the canonical tag to be added back although canonical control was passed to the WordPress SEO plugin.

However — it’s fixed via commenting out a line in the theme (Catalyst). Author says it will be fixed in next minor update.

We’ve got the same issue, and we’ve even tried removing the whole call in the theme which removes WP canonical and put in Genesis canonical links (we’re using a Child theme in Genesis). That made no difference, and we’ve still got 4k+ duplicate titles and descriptions in webmasters.

    How did you sort this?

Please help me out, I do not understand your post on how to fix the issue.

So, How do I fix wordpres if I have 2 Canonical tags? I use All in One SEO and I still have this error.

    Thank you.

@josibeber: if you have issues, please open a new thread with the proper plugin, this is a support thread for WordPress SEO by Yoast, not All in One SEO.
