Noticed the same thing. As soon as I installed Version 1.2.3, the site title changes to "This is a Yoast Test Title" and cannot be changed.

Oh, just figured out how to fix it.
Go to Titles & Meta, then go to the Home tab.
The first line says Title template: %%sitename%% - %%sitedesc%%
Just leave it like it is and press Save Settings.
Refresh your site, and your old title will be back.
Phew! That was easy!
doesn't work for me
I have no: The first line says Title template: %%sitename%% - %%sitedesc%%.
only got this on home tab:
Home & front
You can title and description for the front set by the front itself edit »
You can title and description for the blog page set by editing the front page now »
edit:
some static pages including the homepage are in good image in terms of title
Some pages not
also at the post types have some other posts theres not bother so it seems a setting
Experiecing the same problem as Chris Barret, but I can do the change he suggests for the same that kletskater mentions - there's only the following on the home tab.:
Home & front
You can title and description for the front set by the front itself edit »
You can title and description for the blog page set by editing the front page now ».

I have the same issue.
On my designated homepage, I used the WordPress SEO "SEO Title"
What I want = "Tonka Tackle | Tournament Grade Soft Plastics & Jigs for Bass Fishing"
What I get = "Products - Tonka Tackle"
Hopefully this will be resolved in next version

Was having this issue. Fixed by checking "Force Rewrite Titles". Save and should be corrected.
I hope this is corrected without me having to go to all my clients sites just to check that that one box.
force rewrite is on by defold here, doesn't do the trick
upgrade didn't solve my problem,
have mailed Joost about it
now that I've read better, I understand that this is not due to wp SEO by Yoast, but the new default settings of wordpress itself.
I still hope that there is a workaround to get some beautiful titles.
but the new default settings of wordpress itself.
What new default setting?
Thanks Esmi for responding,
can't recall exactly where I read it but was a change in WP permalink settings.
In permalink settings? Not as far as I know, there weren't.
Thanks Esmi
In that case I will adress my problems to Yoast again:-)
Same trouble here, I've lost all <title> after upgrade to 1.2.5 version, description is still there. By the way, titles are still in admin area.
