    Hi there,

Is there a way to make the following wished-for tags work in the SEO Title & Description Templates?

    • %%portfolio_category%%

    • %%portfolio_category_description%%

    possibly by using: %%cf_<custom-field-name>%% ?

    Thanks!

portfolio is a custom taxonomy I assume?

Try the development version, in which you can use %%ct_<custom-taxname>%%, so in this case %%ct_portfolio%% I don't have custom taxonomy descriptions yet but I'll add those too.

You can download the development version from here, or you can download it directly here.

I've just tried using %%ct_portfolio%% as you suggest (and %%portfolio_category%%, %%portfolio_category_description%% - in case they magically worked!) and saw that

    • %%ct_portfolio%% - gave a blank result
    • %%portfolio_category%%, %%portfolio_category_description%% - gave the result '%%portfolio_category%%, %%portfolio_category_description%%'

(I actually thought that 'Portfolio' was a new thing in WordPress - but it must just be part of the theme I'm using! - it shows up under Posts & Pages and has it's own Categories section that works the same ways as Post Categories. It also comes up in your Titles section of SEO Settings)

Not sure where to go next from here - do you have any ideas...?

    Now I tried:

    • %%ct_portfolio_category%% - that worked perfectly :)

Do you know if there's a way to limit it to top level categories only?

    Thanks!

No there's not really a way for me to do that easily....
