Thanks a ton for that, found the bug and fixed it, should be fixed in the next release. If you want to test that, or can’t wait, try the development version.

You can download the development version from here, or you can download it directly here.

No problem! Sorry again for the newbie question… I know how to download and upload a plugin – but how do I update an existing plugin with no automatic update?

Will I have to manually replace portions of the plugin in my file manager in C-Panel?

    Thanks!

Im unsure as well? do I have to delete the old version and then install the new version?

It still doesnt work? There are 72 words contained in the body copy. This is far too low and should be increased. Any ideas?

Hey Lister110 – by the sounds of your post, it sounds like you uploaded the development version. Did you just delete the old version and put in the new version? If so, did that delete all of your old work?

I would like to give it a go so that Joost can have as much info as possible. But I do not want to delete my work thus far…

    Thanks for your input!

Thanks for this post and the fix. I have now installed the development version and the problem disappeared, leaving me with a nice dark green SEO indicator in my post πŸ™‚

Thanks for the fix Joost! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner, but super glad it got fixed easily =)

Page analysis claims “The images on this page are missing alt tags.”. However, ALL <img> contain alt-tags.

This problem still exist (WP v3.3.1).

    Hi Yoast

Do you have a date in mind for the update? Or is it worth using the dev version as it wont be for a while? And if so, what’s easiest way of uploading without losing the current SEO settings?

    Thanks!

    –Anyone–

Can anyone tell me or antweeman how to upload the development version without loosing the current settings of WordPress SEO?

    Hi Joost,
Was experiencing the same problem as others in this thread. Am using WP 3.4.1 and WP SEO 1.2.5 Installed the development version and that solved the issue for me. Thanks!

@antweeman @encompassmore – You could rename WP SEO plugin folder in CPanel (i.e wordpress-seo-orginal) upload the development version and see how it works. If it doesn’t work for you, delete the development version folder and rename wordpress-seo-original folder back to wordpress-seo. I uploaded development version using this technique, all my settings remained intact. Once I validated that everything was good, I deleted the wordpress-seo-original folder.

I installed the development version. Fixed all of the issues except:
The keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy, make sure the topic is clear immediately.

The keyword is in the first sentence of body copy. Any Suggestions or just ignore and don’t worry about it?

@slowbutsteady – great! nice and simple! my pages now have the green light! @encompassmore – one thing to remember is to download your SEO settings first by going to the Import/Export link in the SEO tool, then hit Export settings. When you switch to the dev version, ensure you re-import the settings. Otherwise, everything else remains intact

    @mrnic sorry not sure…
