Canonical URL’s on my NextGEN gallery site cause large numbers of unique pages to be marked as non-indexable. My site must therefore run with canonical URLs OFF.

Unfortunately WordPress SEO turns canonical URLs ON and unlike other SEO plugins does not (appear) to have an ON/OFF option. I see other entries in the forums where people have removed the WordPress SEO code segment managing canonical URLs so it appears this type of problem does impact other users.

I would therefore like to suggest that perhaps this functionality can be added at a later release.

I’m not going to add a setting for it, as that is bound to confuse people, but adding this to your functions.php does it nice and simple:

add_filter( 'wpseo_canonical', '__return_false' );

When i use this in my functions.php, it does remove the canonical url, but it also removes the OG:url property as well..

my issue is the slug for my Static Home page is being used, canonically, and in facebook OG:url property, getting .com/home/

etc..

is there something i can do to stop this, id like to use canonical urls too, but whats really important to me is to stop using the static home page slug, anywhere.

HI, I’ve got a serious problem. I’m not experienced in WordPress. Please any help will be great.

My WordPress site search result page url example: http://getandroidstuff.com/%5Bsearch/live+wallpaper/page/53/

But in the source it shows canonical urls as:
<link rel=”canonical” href=”http://getandroidstuff.com/search/live%2Bwallpaper/page/53/” />
<link rel=”prev” href=”http://getandroidstuff.com/search/live%2Bwallpaper/page/52/” />
<link rel=”next” href=”http://getandroidstuff.com/search/live%2Bwallpaper/page/54/” />

Which caused a lot of 404 errors in webmaster tools. I’m using your SEO plugin. How can i solve this issue?
