[resolved] Issue connecting FB app with WordPress SEO (22 posts)

When I "Add Facebook Admin" and click "Log In", I get a 404 and FB shows the app has been connected.

If I attempt to "Use a FB page as Admin" none of my pages are there even though I click "Allow." Selecting "Update facebook pages" does nothing but refresh the page.

If I start over and click "Use a facebook app as admin" and then select my app, the URL linter gives me the following error:

Object Invalid Value: Object at URL 'http://y2kemo.com/' of type 'website' is invalid because the given value '-2147483648' for property 'fb:app_id' could not be parsed as type 'fbid'.

    Am I missing something?

Hmm I'll have to see some more logs before I know what's happening here... Did it throw any warnings specifically?

No errors. Clicked "log in". The URL changed to something including facebook app id. Then a 404.

As for connecting the FB app...the URL linter displays the object invalid value (not the site). example [linted link]

Sort of. I just hardcoded the missing properties into the header.

That makes it very hard for me to fix things... What was "missing" and on which type of pages?

Or even better: what did you do, what did you expect as an outcome and what did you see instead?

Apologies. I realize you are quite busy and thought it easiest to hardcode.

I was attempting to put the fb:add_id and fb:admins in the header using the "social" section of the plugin. I was never able to pull up my facebook page from the "social" section and when I was able to configure the app the URL linter gave me the above message.

What's your facebook username and which page were you trying to use?

And you didn't get that page as an option in the dropdown?

Hmm could you retry for me? It has registered on my end...

Still no pages in the dropdown [image]

and the url linter is showing:

Inferred Property: fb:admins and fb:app_id missing. fb:admins or fb:app_id is necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high clickthrough rate.

I removed the app from FB. Cleared FB data from the plugin. Started back over. Added myself as an admin. Selected LOG IN when FB prompted. Clicked the button to add a FB page as an admin. Clicked ALLOW when FB prompted. Returned to the SEO admin page. Drop down still doesn't show any pages that were allowed in the FB. Tried the update fb pages button. No dice.

Should point out that "fb:admins user_id" is now in the header and is being picked up by the URL linter. Just not the FB page info.

Facebook Fan pages with numbers still don't show as option.

Using the last version. When is this fixed?

    Thanks

I have the same problem. On facebook debug page I'm getting

fb:admins and fb:app_id tags are missing. These tags are necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high clickthrough rate.

Facebook deprecated fb:page_id, it'll be removed from the next version of WordPress SEO.
