[resolved] Facebook 404 error on debugging (7 posts)

I donated to the plug-in as it's been doing wonderfully for me to climb up the search engine rankings. I had a problem with Facebook not showing my thumbnails/meta descriptions anymore.

I figured out how to get Facebook to show thumbnails again and have selected a page to use as Facebook admin. Whenever I use Facebook's debug page though:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

it comes back with a 404: Bad Response Code: URL returned a bad HTTP response code.

    It also has 3 warnings:
Inferred Property: The 'og:url' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property: The 'og:title' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Tiny og:image: All the images referenced by og:image must be at least 200px in both dimensions. Please check all the images with tag og:image in the given url and ensure that it meets the minimum specification.

All of the warnings seem like the og: settings are set correctly when I view source.

Any idea how I can get rid of the error and warnings?

Can you share your URL so we can look at the source code of your site?

    http://txwinelover.com

I see with the main link, I get a 200 error whereas a blog post URL gets the 404 from the Facebook debug page.

a 200 code is a success message, but yes a 404 is an error.

Your posts are certainly returning a 404.

Try disabling W3TC, see if that helps.

Then try saving the permalink settings again.

If you need to, disable plugins one by one to see if it's a plugin causing the error.

Apparently I have fixed it. I looked at the W3TC settings and it had the message "The required directives for fancy permalinks could not be detected, please confirm they are available". I confirmed the settings were there. The only difference is there was a blank line above the line:
    # END WordPress

I removed the blank line and W3TC did not give the error message any more. I then ran it through the debug checker and posts are not coming back with a 404 anymore.

Ya' got me, but thanks for the insight and leading me to look at W3TC!
