HI there. Brand new install here.

I'm getting the error on sitemap not existing - 404 - (despite flushing cache). I'm guessing it may have something to do with an older sitemap plugin I had running. But even by deactivating that plugin, Yoast's still throws a 404.

Seems like a common problem ... is this still a matter of using the Dev version to fix?

  2. Which other plugin are you running?

Well, these two. But I've disabled them both, and still no luck with Yoast.

    WP Sitemap:
    http://www.devdevote.com/cms/wordpress-plugins/wp-sitemap/

    &

    Google XML Sitemaps
    http://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-generator/

But, both are currently disabled, I've cleared cache, saved settings on Yoast, and still 404 here: http://www.triplepundit.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Any ideas?

I reckon I'm going to give up on this. seems like a really common problem.

Any reason i shouldnt' just disable this part of yoast and keep using my other sitemap plugin?

we just disabled the sitemap in yoast as it brings up errors with google and started using another xml generator

to be honest there are too many issues with yoast yet to be fixed
