I’m building a site with custom page templates. The pages pull information from a second database, based on a query string in the URL.

WordPress SEO by Yoast shows the canonical URL as exactly the same for each page — without the query string — but we want the opposite. We want each page to appear completely different, so search engines will see them as different pages.

Similarly, the Facebook open graph URL tag generated by the plugin is removing the query strings.

Anybody have any ideas on how to get the plugin to specify the actual URL (including the query strings) for both canonical and facebook open graph?

If that’s not possible, is there an easy way to disable canonical and open graph URL tags for specific pages?

    Thanks!
