• I am a novice trying to build my own site. I am using Weaver II theme. I presently have the broad parameters of my home page developed, but have not yet inserted any content. The site for the present will be a traditional static pages only site, but I will attach a blog later.

When should I activate and install the Yoast plugin? Should I, can I, install it now, or should I wait until I have content entered.

  • Install it before you add any content to your site. That way you can use it to create the right META tags for each page. I do this myself because it’s eaiser to think about keywords, descriptions, etc when I’m writing the page rather then going back and adding it all in later on.

    Michael,

Thanks for your practical advice. What you are doing is what I was going to do, but then, because I am very new to this game, I had that second thought that maybe I could be wrong. You have reassured me.
