   This plugin does exactly what I am looking for. However, I've noticed that it doesn't work when the NextGen Gallery plugin is activated.

   Is there a solution for this?

   Hi given the amount of time since the post not sure if you have sorted the problem.
   I have Nextgen active and Random Image works just fine.

   A long time has passed with new versions of wordpress, my theme and plugins. I haven't tried this plugin again, but it works fine now.
