• Hi guys! need some help with the wordpress to smf plugin

i have moved out my forum from the blog server to its own due to high load.

when im trying to configure the plugins settings it asks for this:

Local path of your smf installation
    (probably /home/phat/myforum)

the thing is that the forum is not stored on the same server. i moved the forum from dailymobile.se to this domain / url:

    http://forum.dailymobile.se/home/phat/forum.dailymobile.se/

thats the “local” path for the SMF. but when i add that ill get this error message:

smf not found! Please set smf local path before creating or updating posts

have any idea on how to fix this? its kinda urgent. thank you so much for the help!

  • You have moved the forum to a sub-domain called “forum”.

So the server path to the forum should be something like “/home/phat/public_html/forum”, unless you have done some cname redirection of your subdomain to another web server.

no, the forum has been moved to another server, i just created a sub domain that redirects the url to the new server, the forum IS NOT hosted on the same machine / server anymore.

It would require establishing connection to a remote database server.

You have your work cut out for that!
