• I wasted 2 hours of my life on this plugin. Please save yourself the same trouble. It is setup to use a 3rd party vendor to supply thumbnail images to your portfolio page but they are really trying to get you to pay a $10 a month upgrade fee to get the thumbnails to get updated. To do this you submit your URLs for them to deliver a thumbnail and they never do in the free mode.

  • There are no issues with the thumbnails in the free account. I haven’t heard from you about your issues, so I have not been able to help you.

It sounds like your key for ShrinkTheWeb might be wrong, or that your cache directory might be set wrong.

If you need help, you just need to ask.

This is an old topic but, for reference, Dan is correct. The reason the thumbnails did not update for ironmal is most likely due to:

    • Does not have a correct STW Access Key
    • The cache directory doesn’t exist or is not 0777 permissions

Even the basic, free STW PagePix service will allow the average user more than enough new thumbnails per month. Less than 2% of our users ever need to upgrade.

And as a side note, we have a rolling refresh that automatically refreshes captures to within 60 days, even if no one requests a refresh.

    Cheers,

    Brandon
