    Hi,

Just checked your site and it loaded fine for me. Try disabling all other plugins and re-enable them one by one to make sure there are no conflicts.

I had the same problem with my wordpress site.

Server took around 10sec to generate a single page.. and couldn’t find out why.

Upon disabling “WordPress Popular Posts” plugins the average render time drop to 0.5-1 sec

.. so it seems that there is an issue here 🙁

Yes, the plugin def slows down my site too. It has over 14 000 posts and even more pictures so WPP may not be optimised for bigger data sets.

@hector – Thanks for the response. We ended up disabling the plugin before your response.

It seems that it is querying the database everytime there is a page load. Perhaps some kind of caching system would help this?

Currently, I don’t think WPP is optimized for large data sets.

@héctor, please add at least simple static file cacheing for the next release. Would that be possible for you?

I really like the plugin but it kills my mySQL and gets my VPS tons of nasty physpages errors 🙁 (7500 errors in 6 days to be exact)

    Hi guys,

I’ll get into this issue as soon as I get some spare time, at the moment I’m quite busy with work projects.

Will get back at you once I get a test version for you people.

Thanks Héctor, looking forward for a new version..

    Hi guys,

Here’s a test version of the plugin, please give it a try and post your feedbacks.

    Thanks, will try soon.

Please note that your link needs to be manually edited to actually lead to your website.

I’ve tried test version and seems that there is no significant affect on page loading time any more. Thanks!

@arneby: thanks for letting me know. I didn’t notice that before. Here’s the direct link: http://cabrerahector.com/sandbox/wordpress-popular-posts.zip.

@mixos: thanks for reporting. Please test it for a few more days and let me know how it goes for you.

Will this be added to version 2.3.3?

Yes, these changes will stay on 2.3.3 and on.
