• First of all great plugin and thank you for the work!

I am having hard time collecting proper stats due to this scenario. When the site shows popular posts widget the posts shown in the widget will get more click since they are being more exposed and sort of promoted, that means there is a positive feedback loop which keeps the same set of posts up all the time and doesn’t give the chance to organic posts to get the proper stats.

Would it be possible to force the plugin to only collect stats if the post is shown by not clicking on the popular post widget? Or in simpler scenario would it possible to force the plugin to collect stats if the referral domain is not the site domain. That means the post is shown organically and not by promoting through the popular post widget.

    Hi neo,

Checking by referral domain might not be a good idea. What happens, for example, when a reader clicks on a link on one of your posts / pages that leads to another post / page inside your site?
