Neat idea, but after I installed it I couldn't find it anywhere. How do you actually use it?

    Hello adamsmark,

you have uploaded the complete files with the wordpress-multibox-plugin folder?

Then you have at your webspace the following structure:
    /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-multibox-plugin/somefiles...

In this first version of the plugin there donĀ“t exist any configuration pages in wordpress. Just browse in the admin panel to "plugins" and activate it on the bottom of the page. When you have do this, please give me a link to your blog and i will check the html code...

If the pictures not shown in the multibox, give me please a link to your blog and tell me, what wordpress version you are using.

Tested is the plugin on a wordpress 2.51 up to 2.6.0, and a user have tell me, that 2.6.1 works fine...

    Many thanks!

BlackPixel, after a monthlong (!) search, finally THE plugin I've been looking for.

There is just one thing that bugs me:
I would like to display a title and description for each image, like on phatfusion's demo page: page

Right now, the title is taken from the link's title which makes it difficult to configure if you have lots of images because it involves an extra step.

Is there a way to have the image title and description information given in the editor inserted in the multibox? These fields automatically open when you upload an image in the editor, so it would be much easier to use.

    Thanks!!

    Hello schikowski,
thanks for your reply. AT the moment i work on a configuration page where you can set several options for the plugin.
The idea to integrate the description under the title is very good. After the next update that comes these day's, i would try out your idea.

Installed it and is working perfectly.

    2 things I noticed:
    - arrows are cut off at the bottom
(not in original phatfusion script because description is there)
    - in IE6, arrows and closing X have a white bg
(this is happening even with the original phatfusion script)

    Keep up the excellent work!

    Hello schikowski,

can you send me the link to your blog? tg0[at]gmx.de
I would check the problem with the arrows at the bottom.

At this time i have more good news: i have added the description from pictures to them bottom of the multibox and on the next update you can use this feature :)

BTW, this could be a possible solution to the IE6 problem:

the latest and greatest version (1.0.8) doesn't work in IE6 or IE7. Occassionally it does, but more often than not, it gives me a "Operation Aborted" error.

How can I get around this?

Also, the description of the image or media file no longer appears on the multibox - why is that?

I would love to get Multibox working - it seems to be what I've been looking for.

    Hello qaxooti,

can you give me an link? By the way, can you look at this site: http://www.rutschmann.biz/php-mysql-javascript-und-ajax/wordpress-multibox-plugin-en

Click at one of the images and look, if is there an description for you?

After you give me an link, i will take a look an your blog... :)

    http://www.letitmarinate.com

    is my site.

I think I fixed the Operation Aborted error by replacing the action at the end of the php file to wp_footer (from wp_head).

That seems to have done the trick (for now at least).

But, I still can't get any descriptions on the images. But, if I install the 1.0.2 version of Multibox, the descriptions do show up.

Any suggestions how to solve this?

Also, if you have another solution to the operation aborted error, then I'd like to hear it (my fix may only be a temporary one...who knows who long it'll work).

I clicked on the link you gave me and saw the description, but am wondering why mine doesn't appear. Odd.

    Hello qaxooti,

you make use of the thickbox, nextgen gallery, shadowbox and you include the jquery framework. thats very strange and not good for all. when you don`t need the other plugins, please deactivate it an test again.

jquery and mootools are not realy compatible.

You can test the new version 1.2.0 for you. There is the new mootools framework integrated, i hope that will help for you!

    cheers manfred

    Hello everyone,

I recently added Multibox as a plugin, however it is not working! We previously had Lightbox installed, and it worked fine. I have followed the installation instructions, but still no good. We also have WordPress 2.6.1. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    hey blackpixel, thanks.

I'm only using all of those because I can't get one of those to do everything.

Like, MultiBox works great...but it doesn't work on web links.

so I used shadowbox. and multibox doesn't seem to work on the NextGen Galley, so I used thickbox.

I've heard that LightWindow works for everything, but the wordpress plugin that is available is only for images.

I just want an application that will work for everything (and looks good). Any suggestions?

Shadowbox is ok, but doesn't look all that great (plus you have to manually resize flash videos).

has anyone had any success using multibox 1.2 on firefox?

it works on IE, but not on Firefox 3.0.

usually it's the other way around...

any suggestions? something in the code?

Interesting note...I installed the older version of Lightbox (1.0.8) and the box worked, but it will not display the image and the Close button does not work. Sigh =[

    hey blackpixel,

it is worked great on IE and FF. Version 1.2.1 seems to have done the trick.

can you view weblinks and pdfs with multibox? I don't think so, but that woudl be a great feature to add on.

Also, I can't get it to work with my NextGEN Gallery. What rel attribute does Multibox reference?

If I wanted to manually reference an image to use the Multibox plugin, what rel attribute (i.e. rel="lightbox") would I need to put in to get it to work?

it seems as though slimbox or lightbox will not work with the NEXTGen Galley when multibox is activated.

Anyway around this? I know they use the same libraries, but is there a way around this?

I would like to have the functionality of Slimbox on my NextGEN gallery, but the versatility of Multibox on everything else.

    Hello qaxooti,

the multibox need no rel attribute :) Select in the dropdown box "own" and write in the textbox only class="wmp", and delete the part with rel="blah"

Make sure to go to settings, multibox and at the bottom on the page set "disable description".

When you use my latest version 1.2.1, that`s it. I hope this will work for you. Please give me a note when it's done!

    Best wishes!

    hey blackpixel,

version 1.2.1 was working on FF and IE before...but now, it is only working on IE.

it will just open up images and videos in new links, almost as if the multibox plugin is not even getting called. but it works on IE. version 1.08 works, so I have installed that for now.

1.0.8 is good, but the functionality of 1.2.1 is better (and it's smoother, quicker, and has descriptions), but for the time being, I am using 1.0.8 while I try to figure out the problem.

    any ideas?

Good news: At version 1.2.2 now you can handle pdf files. Thanks qaxooti for this good idea!

Look at http://www.rutschmann.biz/php-mysql-javascript-und-ajax/wordpress-multibox-plugin-en and click under the first image on "PDF File" :)

    @ qaxooti:
Can you install the v 1.2.2 and send me an link. I can not reproduce your problem :(

    Best wishes Manfred

the new version 1.2.2 doesn't work on FF3. Neither did 1.2.1.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

It works on IE, but not on FF3.

1.2.2 looks promising though because it has support for PDFs. Now...if it developed an extra option for displaying web links also, this would be hands down the best lightbox-type plugin for WordPress.

Anyone know why I might be experiencing problems on FF3?

    Hello qaxooti

i used the ff3 to, since the download day :) When you browse my blog, where you can see the pdf link, there don't work your ff3? my installation seems to be fine, all things works!

    Give me a feedback!

i may be doing something wrong...but...versions 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 don't work on Firefox 3.0. I must be doing something wrong.

When I click on an image link, instead of opening it up in the MultiBox, it will open it up on another tab at its location. It's like it never even calls on the Multibox. Same for videos and other stuff.

But, in IE6, it works like a charm.

I have to be glossing over something. I must be doing something wrong.

It doesn't seem to work at all on Firefox 3.0.
