Not able to get this work. Not sure what it does... (3 posts)

    My URL: hoosierhoopsreport.com

I have multi-site set up, and I have this plugin install, putting domain_mapping.php in the mu-plugins folder and sunrise.php in the wp-content folder.

I have a blog set up as hhm, and I have the URL hoosierhoopsmagazine.com pointed at my nameservers.

I have set up my server IP address and confirmed it.
    I have:
    Remote login: unchecked
    Permanent redirect: checked
    User domain mapping page: checked
Redirect administration pages to site's original domain: unchecked

On the Domains menu, I have entered my blog ID = 2, and I put in the domain, hoosierhoopsmagazine.com, setting it as primary.

I've been back and forth with my host's support people, and they have been excellent at trying to deal with what I'm explaining. Using Host Gator, and they use cPanel.

Those are the facts, and obviously it's not working. Here are the questions:

Do I need to Addon my new URL in my cPanel as I normally do?
Is there anything else I need to do?

When I go through my WP Super Admin -> Sites, I click on Visit under my hhm blog. It shows as hhm.hoosierhoopsreport.com. It takes me to hoosierhoopsmagazine.com. Should it do that? To me, it seems like it should work the other way. I should visit hoosierhoopsmagazine.com, and it takes me to hhm.hoosierhoopsreport.com.

    I *are* *cornfused*.

One last fact: I'm using A records not CNAME. I guess. :)

  3. Hi Jim! :)

You need to use cpanle's parking feature to park the domain you want to map right on top of your install.

    Remote login: unchecked

Remote login means do you want the subdomain to still be able to be logged in to?

This domain mapping plugin works the exact same way as the one on wordpress.com, if that helps.
