WordPress Mobile Pack
[resolved] Use a different menu for Mobile Theme (9 posts)

    I installed the wordpress-mobile-pack plugin and love it. However,I had to create a new menu with custom pages in it for the mobile versions of the website because of how the pages were showing up on the mobile theme on my smartphones...

    How do I override what menu is used as the primary menu and static home page for the mobile theme? I can do it in the code, but I do not know where to do it at...

    I would appreciate the pointer as to where to find that in the mobile theme...

    Thank you.
    Richard

    Hi fboese I found out how to have a completely independent menu:

    wp_nav_menu( array('menu' => 'MENU_SLUG' ));

    of course you have to create a custom menu in WP 3.0+ and of course the "menu" parameter inside the code is mandatory and you can pass a number of parameters (such as menu class or menu id). Check out the codex for them.

    Hope I helped.

    Hi niccolo.mineo Thanks for the tip.

    Could you screenshots or step-by-step instructions on this?

    MMSG,

    1. Create a custom menu.
    2. Open the WP Admin panel, then click Appearance, and then click Editor.
    3. On the right side of the Edit Themes page, select WordPress Mobile (base) from the Select theme to edit menu.
    4. Then edit the wp_nav_menu(array( to have 'menu'=>'23' or whatever the id is of your custom menu.

    Here's a helpful reference for editing wp_nav_menu(array(: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_nav_menu
