I did the last backup of my blog 2011-01-22 (wordpress.2011-01-22.xml). Yesterday (2011-02-14) I installed WP 3.0.5 and used this plugin to import but the comments are missing (although they still are in the XML file). Besides there are problems with the categories.
I’ll install a previous version of WP and try again…
    Thanks.-

  • A previous version of WordPress shouldn’t make a difference; especially if you have upgraded within the 3.0.x family.

You could try out the vastly improved development version [direct link] of the importer available from the Other Versions page. Though I have had no previous problems when importing comments using version 0.2 of the importer.

Having access to a sample export XML file that does not work for you would really help to diagnose the issue. If this is possible you can contact me privately via email: wp {AT} lionsgoroar.co.uk

    Thanks for your reply.
But I remember that in previous versions, import was not managed for a plugin. I’m not sure. I think that if use same version of WP where I exported, should be works seamless.

Q: Are you the plugin’s developer?

OK. Was a problem with WP-UserAgent” plugin By Kyle Baker. I just reinstaled.
So no problem with “WordPress Importer”
    Thanks.-

Okay, glad you got this sorted 🙂
