Along with this guide to add www to multisite URL’s: http://www.geekhelpguide.com/wordpress/adding-www-to-wordpress-3-0-multisitemu-root-domain/

Only thing is to ignore his instruction to add www to the wp_site table, or else you will get some strange behavior when trying to go to a page without the www prefix. Again, never add www to the wp_site table.
