WordPress HTTPS (SSL)
[resolved] Can't edit page because all I get is a blank screen (30 posts)

    I upgraded the plugin from 3.0.4 to 3.1 and now when I try to edit some of my pages, I get a blank screen. No errors. When I deactivate the plugin or go back to version 3.0.4 everything is fine.

    I also tried setting WP_DEBUG to true in wp-config.php and that didn't help. Still a blank screen.

    Same problem for me as well - followed fix offered below - but with no success.

    ***
    I can't get into my admin panel after updating. How do I fix it?
    Go to /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-https/wordpress-https.php and uncomment (remove the two forward slashes before) the line below, or go to your wp-config.php file and add this line. Hit any page on your site, and then remove it or comment it out again.

    define('WPHTTPS_RESET', true);

    I have the same blank screen problem when trying to edit any posts or pages. My background also disappeared after updating.

    Thanks!

    Last time I updated this plugin I was also locked out of my admin panel. I don't want to update this plugin anymore since everytime I do it breaks my site! Time to look for another alternative I think...

    White pages are generally syntax errors or memory issues. What version of PHP are you using? Have you checked your Apache error logs?

    I have the same issue. Went back to 3.04 and all is well. This is not a PHP or apache issue...it's called a bug.

    Well, the plugin works completely fine for a lot of people, so I disagree with you. Either way, I can't do anything without some kind of error report.

    i updated to 3.1 this morning and i am too having random blank screens only via the admin on random pages. most pages are fine where as one page gives me the blank. another theme option page also gives me a blank. is there anywhere to download the previous version until this bug is fixed? i have no error messages to give you because there none that get outputted. i am on wordpress 3.4.0.

    I have the same problem (Error 500 with Nginx). PHP-FPM currently has a bug, which causes that no PHP errors are logged. But I could get some information with apache.
    Here is the log:

    [Mon Jul 09 22:43:11 2012] [error] [client xxx] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getScheme() on a non-object in /var/www/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-https/lib/WordPressHTTPS/Module/Parser.php on line 95
    [Mon Jul 09 22:43:11 2012] [error] [client xxx] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/blog/wp-includes/cache.php on line 113

    The second error is obviously caused by the first error.

    I gave up, too. Reloaded old version - found a download link to 3.0.4 @ http://download.famouswhy.com/wordpress_https/

    I also have the same problem upgrading from 3.0.4 to 3.1. I reverted back to 3.0.4 and was able to get my admin panel screen back.

    Thanks for that link thickchick! My wordpress site works again. I won't be updating this plugin again until I search the support page for issues first...

    thickchick (and others), you don't need to leave the wordpress.org domain to find old versions of plugins or themes. Click the Developers tab on a plugin/theme page to see old versions. In this plugin's case:

    Just a friendly reminder, if the plugin is working for you, say so here under Compatibility on the right-hand side.

    I too, had the problem of not being able to access the admin page after the update. There was a period of time, early on, when my site was only http. Then I changed to https. Accordingly, some image links were only to http. After I disabled the update to get to the admin page, many images appeared only as place holders, some came and went, and the site, with respect to images, was pretty messed-up. I have just now manually fixed my images to point to https and the site is working again.

    Afraid to update to the newer version of the plugin in case it doesn't work or creates new problems for me. Anybody else with same problem who has test drove the 3.1.1?

    The latest 3.1.2 is breaking the visual editor again. It looks to me that it has bad regec replaces or something. It's removing the closing ")" from the tinymce.PluginManager.load() calls. Examples:

    tinyMCEPreInit.load_ext("https://www.daybreak.tv/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/admin/tinymce", "en");
    tinymce.PluginManager.load("NextGEN", "https://secure.daybreak.tv/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/admin/tinymce/editor_plugin.js";
    tinyMCEPreInit.load_ext("https://www.daybreak.tv/wp-content/plugins/cforms/js", "en");
    tinymce.PluginManager.load("cforms", "https://secure.daybreak.tv/wp-content/plugins/cforms/js/editor_plugin25.js";
    tinyMCEPreInit.load_ext("https://secure.daybreak.tv/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/after-the-deadline/tinymce", "en");
    tinymce.PluginManager.load("AtD", "https://secure.daybreak.tv/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/after-the-deadline/tinymce/editor_plugin.js?v=20120221";

    This should be fixed in the development version. Could you try and let me know?

    I was having problems with editing posts and accessing the media library - both problems appear to be fixed in the dev version. Cheers!
