Hi. I need to force one specific page of my site to be secure with SSL.
I would love to use WordPress HTTPS, I installed the latest version 1.8.1. In the preferences, I checked Internal HTTPS Elements and Force SSL Exclusively. I don’t get the Force SSL checkbox in the Publish box.
    Can you please help? Thanks

Is there any other way to Force SSL on one page without the checkbox?
    Thanks.

Yep, you can add a ‘force_ssl’ custom field with the value of 1 and it will force that page to be SSL. The checkbox is simply a shortcut for that.

I should add that to the FAQ, but the idea was to add it in for 2.8.6 before anyone noticed. Argh, you caught me! Haha.

    Thanks for downloading!

I cannot find the WordPress HTTPS Preferences. Also, I do not get the force ssl checkbox, so I followed the above tip and added it as a custom field, and still the page comes comes up http.

Look under Settings and you see the WordPress HTTPS settings right there.

There’s nothing that I can think of that would prevent the settings from showing up, other than the plugin not being enabled.

If you can’t get it to work, I don’t mind logging into your site and taking a look. You can email me at mike[at]mvied[dot]com.
