  • In my case he did not start.

It is so long since. I think there are more than 3 versions. I use WPMU.

Neither any information appears in the log.

Ok, this is odd. It should not be creating the SQL backups each time.

Are they being created in ‘wp-content/backups’?

    (@mrboo)

    Yes. They are created…

    Not in my case.

    Plugin Contributor Michael De Wildt

    (@michaeldewildt)

@ialima7 – If the SQL files are not created then its most likely a permission issue and you should ensure the ‘wp-content/backups’ directory is writeable.

@mrboo – Can you please delete any SQL file in this directory and start the backup again. Do any files make it to Dropbox?

    Thread Starter Adrià López

    (@mrboo)

I deleted the SQL file and started again the backup and the new SQL was synchronized with my dropbox account. But anything else… The loop started again:

12:14:43 : Backing up WordPress path at (/srv/disk1/1148254/www/mywebsite.org/).
12:14:43 : Creating SQL backup of your WordPress plugins.

    12:03:21 : Approximately 71% complete.

12:02:57 : Backing up WordPress path at (/srv/disk1/1148254/www/mywebsite.org/).
12:02:57 : Creating SQL backup of your WordPress plugins.
12:02:57 : Creating SQL backup of your WordPress core.
    12:02:27 : Backup started on Monday October 8, 2012.

Do not is a permission problem. Unfortunately I can not test because my WordPress is the old problem of ‘missed scheduling‘ (guilt of hosting, maybe) and that interfere in all plugins that automate functions (Speaking of which, where’s the button ‘run now’?).

    Plugin Contributor Michael De Wildt

    (@michaeldewildt)

That will be the issue then. The backup, including backup now, relies on the wp-cron system. So you will need to get that working before using wpb2d.

You can backup now within the Backup Log.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    Thank you for the reply!

With the button “Start Backup” he finally began. Strangely, he surpassed the 100% (see log).

I suspect that the quality of hosting service is interfering. I’m having frequent problems with it (must be because it is very cheap, 😀 )

    Anyway the backup was made.

I am experiencing a similar problem.

The SQL files are created in the /backups folder, but they never get to my Drop Box. (I have plenty of space on my Drop Box)

Also, the “site” backup never happens.

I get the “There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.” repeatedly every 5 minutes or so.

My site isn’t too large (65MB).

What can I do to trouble shoot?

    Thanks!

    Plugin Contributor Michael De Wildt

    (@michaeldewildt)

How big are your SQL dump files?

    Thank you for your reply.

    Plugins: 2.9 MB
    Core: 18.8 MB

Then there is an index and log file, but nothing else.

    Plugin Contributor Michael De Wildt

    (@michaeldewildt)

Do you have any errors in your PHP error logs?

Are you referring to the log within /wp-content/backups ?

If so, I simply get entries like these every 5 min until I cancel the backup:

12:55:25: Backing up WordPress path at (<mylocation>\html\wordpress/).
13:01:08: There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.
    <repeat>

If you mean a different error log, could you point me? I’ve tried digging around for the location of PHP error logs or wordpress error logs and I’ve come up empty. (I have a windows-based hosting with GoDaddy)

    Plugin Contributor Michael De Wildt

    (@michaeldewildt)

Ok so GoDaddy Windows plans do not log errors. There are some known issues with windows that I need to look into.

    Watch this space.
