WordPress Backup to Dropbox
Doesnt work on multisite single site (6 posts)

Works like a champ on a single wordpress site install. But under a single site in a multisite environent, I get this:

Warning: scandir(/home/userx/) [function.scandir]: failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/userx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox/wp-backup-to-dropbox-file-tree.php on line 31

Warning: scandir() [function.scandir]: (errno 13): Permission denied in /home/userx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox/wp-backup-to-dropbox-file-tree.php on line 31

Warning: natcasesort() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in /home/userx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox/wp-backup-to-dropbox-file-tree.php on line 32

The test site in question has no other plugins activated so plugin compatibility shouldn't be an issue. And I'm not trying to backup the multisite db, just a single site in a multisite environment.

It's a shame. This is one of the more promising wordpress backup plugins I've found. If it worked properly, I'd even gladly pay for it.

Any idea how I could resolve the above? Thanks in advance.

To clarify, the above text appeared instead of the file select/exclude tree making it impossible to exclude files for backup.

    Gday mate,

Unfortunately if the directory is not readable by PHP there is nothing that can be done.

I have just committed a fix that will exclude any directories that are not readable from the file list.

    Hopefully this helps.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

The issue in this thread is directories not being read, but I'd like to point out that i use it in MultiSite environment and only have it active at the main site, backing up all the sites.

And as a matter of fact, i'm not sure if it is advisable to use it in sub-sites....

Great plugin, Mikey, thanks a bunch!
(btw, your site is down... is everything ok?)

    Gday brasfilo,

You are correct. I have not implemented multisite support, however if you install it on a single site, like you have, it will backup the entire WordPress installation.

Thanks foe the heads up... my host sucks so my site has a habit of going down. It is on my ever growing TODO list to move to a better provider!

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    Gnight Mikey,

ok, but then, there's something not quite right about it...
because, if the admins (not the super-admin) have the right to enable plugins, then in theory they can have access to all the files in the network

    haven't checked this scenario, and it's the super admin responsibility not to leave open doors behind, but i'd suggest that if ($scenario==true) echo $warning;

dam, dude, i can only see your page via google cache

    start an UNDO list

    :)
