   I'm updating from 3.0.1 to 3.0.4. After completing the backups and the WP upgrade, the stage at which the plugins get reactivated is broken.

   wp-admin/index.php brings up:

   Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_option() in /hsphere/local/home/.../wp-admin/admin.php on line 22

   wp-admin/plugins.php brings up:

   Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /hsphere/local/home/.../wp-admin/plugins.php on line 210

   I have restored from the backups and upgraded using WP's built-in update module.
