[resolved] Receive 503 Error Upon Activation - Locks Out Entire Website (2 posts)

    I had Wordfence installed and everything worked perfectly. After the upgrade to version 3.02 the entire website was locked out - the administrative website, anonymous access, etc.

    I deleted the Wordfence plugin directory and everything worked fine. I then installed the Wordfence plugin and then uninstalled (without activating). I then installed the Wordfence plugin and activated. Just after activating the website gave the 503 error "Your access to this service has been temporarily limited. Please try again in a few minutes. (HTTP response code 503)".

    Without the Wordfence plugin the website works normally. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the report.

    Are you seeing anything in your web server error logs?

    Can you check the Wordfence activity log and let me know what reason Wordfence gave for locking you out?

    Please note that the 503 page contains instructions on how to email yourself (the site admin) an email that will let you unlock the site and even disable the entire firewall. It's designed for situations just like this.
