[resolved] Not Yet Working With Amazing Grace Theme (6 posts)

    I can post text but need to verify the "add simple tags to your theme" step for my theme, which is a lightly customized Amazing Grace. Have created child theme, need upgrade to latest AG theme, then look at "simple tags" again.

    Links and images are not working, though images DO upload - no HTML such as src go into the post. I don't think my in-house geek or I have the configuration or templates set right

    We're self-hosted here, may test a WooTheme to see if that works. Any suggestions?

    It's mostly working, but I'm still tinkering with it. Links with no other content don't work yet, see below.

    I did add the <?php woo_tumblog_content(); ?> tag above the_content and the_excerpt in the Amazing Grace theme, but didn't replace the_title tag with <?php woo_tumblog_the_title("entry-title"); ?>because Amazing Grace handles titles differently. So it's all working except for adding a simple link, because WooTumblog replaces the link in the title with the tumblog link content. I don't want to risk messing up normal post titles until I'm sure I've got it right.

    The documentation shows there's a way to call out specific types of content such as a link, so I'm tinkering with that for now.

    You can use the regular get_post_meta() function for the actual link data. It uses simple custom fields to store the data :-)

    Sorry, you lost me at "regular." How and where would I use get_post_meta() to output the link and its title? My current theme's h2 tag looks like this:

    <h2><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Link to <?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>

    Everything else BUT links work. I'd like to mark this plugin "works" if you can point me in the right direction. I know it will turn out to be something you take for granted that plumb eludes me.

    <div class="entrybody">
    <?php if (is_archive() || is_search()) : ?>
    <?php woo_tumblog_content(); ?>
    <?php woo_tumblog_link_content($post_id); ?>
    <?php the_excerpt(); _e('<p><a href="'.get_permalink().'">Continue reading about '); the_title(); _e('</a></p>'); ?>
    <?php else : ?>
    <?php woo_tumblog_content(); ?>
    <?php woo_tumblog_link_content($post_id); ?>
    <?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry &raquo;'); ?>
    <?php the_tags( '<p>Tags: ', ', ', '</p>'); ?>
    <?php endif; ?>
    </div>

    Would edit to add: I have links working, more or less, just not exactly the way as described. Good to go.

    Just want to check if you managed to get the links working? Links use the woo_tumblog_the_title() to output the link.
