    Does anyone know why the featured thumbnail in WooCommerce is always blurry and distorted whether you resize it or not, and how can I fix it?

    I've tried resizing the image by fifty percent larger and then fifty percent smaller and nothing changes it in any way. I read one tutorial that said the coding issue is in WordPress and another that said the coding issue is in WooCommerce.

    Is there any way to fix this or does WooCommerce just do this all the time with other e-commerce sites? I've e-mailed support at WooCommerce and gotten no response and posted the question on one of their forums and gotten no response.

    I could use WooCommerce for client e-commerce if I can solve the blurry image issue and then I could use the other suggestions to hide distorted widgets on certain pages. It would seem reasonable for WooCommerce to want to get involved in the discussions here or respond to e-mails so I don't get why they will not. Are there alternatives to WooCommerce that are as easy to use but without all the necessary reworking and plugins and coding issues?

    But, anyway, to stick to the subject, if anyone can help with the blurry image issue, I'd really appreciate it and will just take it one step at a time for now if I can solve that issue.

    Thanks.

    Hmmm... this issue is more than 6 months old and no word from woocommerce on this?
    I'm facing the same problem and none of the above workarounds/temporary fixes seems to work... Such as shame since woocommerce seems like a very legit ecommerce solution :-(

    I've read from other website forums some kind of CSS code-workaround, but I really am not familiar with CSS (just HTML and a little javascript) and couldn't access the CSS from the WordPress CPanel or through FTP. I spent 4 hours or so resizing images and nothing stopped the blurry image issue and I have a paying customer who wants a simple e-commerce store with clear images. So I just deleted woocommerce yesterday and installed another one that seems to be working fine so far. I should say that I e-mailed WooCommerce directly and posted on several of their forums and got 1 response saying that they don't work with non-paying customers. I love that woocommerce is so easy to install and set up and if the blurry images is okay, than it's great. I finally deleted it yesterday and set up ecwid.

    I've been having the same problem with the products page (shop) with woocommerce installed under eShop from elegantthemes.com

    I did find the workaround for page.php -> copy -> woocommerce.php and changing the if statements (big large block) worked. My new woocommerce.php file looks like this:

    ------------
    <?php get_header(); ?>
    <?php get_template_part('includes/breadcrumbs'); ?>
    <div id="main-area">
    <div id="main-content" class="clearfix">
    <div id="left-column">
    <?php woocommerce_content(); ?>
    </div> <!-- #left-column -->
    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    My breadcrumbs are not working either. Does someonehave a solution for breadcrumbs. I've also heard this workaround is slow ... I could not get the unhook solution to work, so if anyone has a suggestion on that, I'd like to know.

    Thanks,
    -chris

    I've got a very similar problem:

    using a child theme based on the hybrid theme, I followed this advice: http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-docs/codex/template-structure/ and copied some files (mirroring the original folder structure) into my child theme. I modified the copies but it seems woocommerce is simply not picking up my modified files and continues to use its own :-(

    Any tricks out there to check whats wrong here?
    I tried simply inserting some characters into the modified templates to simply check whether they are being picked up but no luck :-(

    replacing the_content(); with woocommerce_content(); didn't work for me.

    the suggestion of SoulOnFiya did worked partially, as it removed the theme sidebar and with it the actual content area from below the woocomerce #content. Obviously, it didnt bring the sidebar back to where it belonged, and the problem actually continues, but it at least is reasonably enough to start the site without solving it, cause using full-width for woocommerce pages makes the lay-out ok.

    I am using wp-clear from solostream.

    Other suggestions didnt work and I didnt find the codex very usefull...

    Just starting to work with WooCommerce, and immediately running into the layout problem. It's beyond me why they chose to include content wrappers that override your theme's--it's a guarantee that your pages will look like crap. Woo's page on theme compatibility is sorely lacking: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/codex/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/

    This page on integrating Jigoshop is way more helpful: https://github.com/jigoshop/Jigoshop/wiki/How-to-Properly-Wrap-Jigoshop-Content-in-your-WordPress-Theme

    The above mentioned page says right out: "There is a bit of a challenge when first using the Jigoshop eCommerce plugin for WordPress in a theme for newcomers. The trick is to properly replace Jigoshop content wrappers with the ones in use in your theme.

    "You would want to do this for most themes, as Jigoshop out of the box is only guaranteed to work with the twenty-ten and twenty-eleven themes. If you notice your sidebar(s) are below the products that Jigoshop lists instead of beside, then that may be your first indication that you need the following..."

    As this is the most basic step in integrating WooCommerce into any theme, I'm surpised the documentation is so poor.

    As this is the most basic step in integrating WooCommerce into any theme, I'm surpised the documentation is so poor.

    Part of the issue is that there are so many themes available out there that it's impossible to support them all.

    Still, I have found a special reluctance among the developers of e-commerce plugins to create codes that don't overwrite or overstep theme codes. They often fail to use plugin-specific classes, for example, which just wreaks all sorts of havoc.

    I eventually just gave up on e-commerce plugins and just use Paypal buttons now.

    Yes, very good point. I was expressing frustration with Woo's sketchy integration information, but after most of a day trolling their forums I did collect enough snippets to make a decent-looking single-product page. I won't clutter up this thread any more but I plan on working up a couple of quick how-tos which might help a few folks out. IMHO WooCommerce has lots of good things going for it, just needs some time and maturation to make it easier to use with popular & custom themes.

    If you are working on the Graphene theme, you are welcome to post a link to those on the Graphene theme support forum.

    @Ovidiu I ran into the same problem with template overrides, and asked Support for help--turns out that WooCommerce Codex page is poorly written. It says "keeping the same file structure" but as the example shows, you DO NOT use the /templates/ directory in your file structure. So:

    Copy:
    plugins/woocommerce/templates/emails/admin-new-order.php
    To:
    [yourtheme]/woocommerce/emails/admin-new-order.php

    Don't include the /templates/ subdirectory in your theme, and the override templates should work. Hope this helps.

    Hi: I have been following this thread to integrate woocommerce into my classipress theme and I am having problems wrapping the content to appear within my theme for the single product pages. It doesn't seem to show anything no description on the page. I managed to get the shop page to wrap content into the theme using the code: <?php woocommerce_content(); ?> following the guidelines offers in this thread. Does anyone know how to wrap content so that single product pages appear formatted properly?

    Can I use the code in my previous post and embed it in other pages of the theme?

    This thread is getting a bit out of hand :) There are several different issues here all different from the OP.

    This doc will be improved soon, but its all you need really: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/codex/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/

    Suggest that people not familiar with theming or hooks use the woocommerce_content method.

    To summarise:

    • Its impossible to use the correct markup for every theme within WC, thats why theming is necessary and it appears sidebars drop beneath content
    • You can create a single template page to solve the layout issues
    • Duplicate your page.php file in your theme called 'woocommerce'. The path to this file will be yourtheme/woocommerce.php
    • Within that file, find the loop, and replace it with <?php woocommerce_content(); ?>. This lets us output the correct template, but within your layout.

    Hi Mike: Thanks for your reply. I have already done that and the shop page is wrapped properly in my theme. The problem lies now with the single product page. Nothing appears on this page when the link is triggered from the shopping page. Do you have any idea what's causing the problem. I am using Classipress by Appthemes. It is the single product pages that don't appear properly. I don't know if it's the wrapping causing it or something else. Nothing at all appears on this page beneath the header of the template. Footer is removed completely.

    Then you have an error in your template and should enable debugging

    Ok. The woocommerce.php file that was created by renaming the page.php file and uploading it to the server has fixed my issue as far as the sidebar and footer area is concerned.

    My only issue at the moment is that there isn't a "background" area for my text. I'm using Easel as my theme and the "Shop" page doesn't have the background color which is by default greyish, so any text is difficult to see because it's black on black.

    The sections that are affected are the premade Shop page and the Product pages.

    If you take a look at the theme you'll have a better understanding of what I mean.

    If anyone can help fix this problem I'd really appreciate it.

    In my WebPage - Be4Sex - the theme Sommerce Shop (Version 2.4) with Woocommerce (Version 1.6.1) and WP (version 3.4.1), and have layout problems, the page set up to store in woocommerce not accept the layout with the left sidebar - "http://be4sex.com.br/loja-2/" only accepts the sidebar to the left of the When We search or categories. I HAD to create an alternative store page with the shortcode woocommerce to circumvent the problem - "http://be4sex.com.br/loja/", but then the selection of the products ordered will not appear.
    Could anyone help me? Grateful for the attention, regards ...

    Sorry, these explanations are a joke.

    Once explained this way, other way explained also, what works now?

    the documentation opn woos page doesnt help at all, when You arent a woo-expert...

    I installed Sommerce version 2.4.1 and everything returned to normal. Only one note in the package that comes with the download because the files from the Child Sommerce that are within the Sommerce are unreliable with those used in the folder Sommerce / Woocomerce. For the layout to work properly with Sommerce Child had to rearrange the original folder of the download.
    Another thing, do not worry with the dull and reckless ignorance of people who do not want help and just get energies downloading useless out there, let the time to teach. The Sommerce is one of the pre-formatted themes that I like, congratulations, I certesa new updates will come and always for the better ...

    The Problem is very Simple.

    WooCommerce is trying for force people to BUY their outrageous priced themes, by making it virtually impossible for woocommerce to work correctly with anything but their themes.

    Bad Bad, Shame on WooCommerce.

    @vehicros that is quite frankly BS. There are technical reasons for the way it works explained here: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/codex/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/ not to mention that there are already 3 free WC themes from woo, and it works with the default WP themes out of the box.

    Hello Mike Jolly
    I am sorry,, this is just my person opinion after trying theme after theme to try to get one to work, but everyone one of them had the same problem, the WC products page running the width of the site, forcing the sidebar to appear below WC content.

    I finally gave up using woocommerce because of this and a few other issuses that I asked about but were never address. In fact I tried to contact woothemes about a plugin that was purchased but doesnt work correctly and never ever received support or a reply, at all.

    But please dont take my comments wrong, its just free speech, and I do support WooCommerce, I think its great. I also read about the founder, and his methods used to make his fortune from it. Which is pretty much, Offer Woocommerce for free and make money selling themes and add-ons for it.

    By the way, I tried the technical solutions, but was not successful.
    Users need more compatibility, and trouble free software.
    Face it, public domain is not charging for something. And even in the post you provided the link to, right at the bottom is says:

    "If all else fails…

    If you cannot work out the above methods, and don’t have access to a developer, we strongly recommend looking at our WooCommerce Themes which work out of the box as a hassle free solution."

    @vehicros: I think the way they use to earn money is okay, cause the support on opensource (which they actually sell, cause their themes are GPL) is the way to earn money with opensource.

    I was only talking about no clear way to a solution, which also is my understanding of opensource, that people try to give a clear understanding of solutions.

    Not only woocommerce, but also other bigger theme clubs dont really care THAT much for their support in the mind of opensource (like solutions clearly posted on support forums) as they pretend to do.

    Like I know from a paid club, where every second (or so) thread is answered by supporters with: "PIM me Your details" and the thread dies after this.
    This is the wrong understanding of OS by some theme club supporters, in my eyes, even in paid support forums. To let a thread die, where others could also use the solution (and this way take pressure from supporters, also), when the solution only would need to be posted. NO, they keep the solution as a secret. Most stupid, in my eyes.
    Cheers.

    Forget the others, I like Woo Commerce, and if Woo Commerce is to become Number one, they need to listen to users.

    There are several little things about Woo Commerce that once corrected, could make it Number One.

    Yes its true Woo Commerce needs to make money, and selling themes is the way they do it, but for the rest of us. If we cant make it work, it doesnt do anyone any good.

    I dont think so. Clubs and being number one, this goes together with a lot personal opinion, it starts with the design style and theming philosophy.

    But generally, they are NOT selling themes, cause their themes are GPL.
    They are selling support, as this is a themes clubs' way to earn, this should be the most important thing for any "wordpress" theme club (listed under themes) to remember.

    Guys, ya so "talking" so much money and GPL... They want a piece of cake will study php + mysql and use the suffusion,'re bursting to prof who wants to make money and have no better platform, fall in the real and stop complaining about tummy full ... Participate with constructive criticism and not envious criticism. The Woocommerce is one of the best e-commerce plugins (if it is not the best) and Sommerce (compared with several others) is giving concert theme "preconceived" for this range of market ... Good luck in business for all ...

    Hi All

    I am relatively new to using the Woo Commerce plugin and am having issues with a site and I am not to sure what I need to do to fix this up.

    My shop and product pages are all wrong and appear to be bringing in the footer widgets.
