compatibility test question opcode APC MT GS (3 posts)

I'm looking to tweak my site for performance.
The compatibility test shows these two entries:

    Opcode cache: Not installed
    Memcache extension: Not installed

I'm using the GS (Grid Service) service from Media Temple

Media Temple says that Opcode is an installed Perl module
    http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/875/Installed+perl+modules

I have found this post about installing APC in the MT GS
    http://designguru.org/blog/120810/how-install-apc-media-temples-gridserver-accounts

I guess my question is this... What changes should I make to optimize my site with regards to php/opcode/apc and this plugin?

    Thanks all!

FYI - I followed the instructions at
    http://designguru.org/blog/120810/how-install-apc-media-temples-gridserver-accounts
and now I have the option to select "Alternative PHP Cache (APC)"

I don't see much performance improvement (over Disk). I guess I need to look at other things. I hope I didnt mess anything up. All seems to be working.

    Suggestions?

APC will not work on mediatemple (gs). Best performance is realized using page caching disk enhanced method and minify for disk as well.
