Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] CDN not working for Internet Explorer

  • This is pretty odd, but when I use FF or Chrome, my images are all delivered via CDN (cloudfront), but when I view my site with IE, the images don’t come from the CDN. They are rendered fine, but come from my server, not the CDN. It’s not a browser cache issue, as I’ve cleared it and used another person’s computer too.

Related (maybe), I’ve had to turn off the CDN entirely because for new posts, the images weren’t showing up. Just a box where the image should be that was blank. When you click the box, it would open the correct image in a new window. That wasn’t happening before I had the IE issue, so I think they are independent.

Any idea what might be causing this?

    Site is: http://www.doseofdigital.com

EDIT: Just found this at the bottom of the source code for my page in IE:

<!– Performance optimized by W3 Total Cache. Learn more: http://www.w3-edge.com/wordpress-plugins/

Minified using disk (user agent is rejected)
Page Caching using disk (enhanced) (user agent is rejected)
Database Caching 56/67 queries in 0.089 seconds using disk
Object Caching 1364/1412 objects using disk
Content Delivery Network via Amazon Web Services: CloudFront: Amazon Web Services: S3: images.doseofdigital.com (user agent is rejected)

    For FF, it’s this:

<!– Performance optimized by W3 Total Cache. Learn more: http://www.w3-edge.com/wordpress-plugins/

    Minified using disk
    Page Caching using disk (enhanced)
Database Caching 35/190 queries in 0.316 seconds using disk
Object Caching 1411/1689 objects using disk
Content Delivery Network via Amazon Web Services: CloudFront: Amazon Web Services: S3: images.doseofdigital.com

Not sure why the “user agent” is rejected, but guessing that’s the issue. There are the user agents that I’ve inputted into W3 under “Rejected User Agents”. Which is causing a problem with IE?

Update…did a little testing on the images not showing up and found that when I used the WP scale image tools, this issue occurs. When I resize before importing to WP, then the images show up fine.

Remove SIE from your user agent groups and avoid rejecting any user agents on respective caches. As for uploading after resizing, there’s currently a bug with this, so you will have to manually export until it’s resolved.

I am not rejecting anything and I have the same problem on tekgoblin.com in firefox it works fine but not in IE. Please check

    Frederick,

Thanks again for the feedback. I’ll make this change.

As for manually exporting, do you mean that I have to resize outside of WP and then embed the images or is there someway to upload the ones resized in WP?

    Thanks,
    JMR

No I mean that when you change a file you need to run the export wizard and probably use the overwrite setting if it’s not working properly.

I don’t understand what you want me to check. Your site doesn’t load in any browser for me.
