  • I personally had this issue before with eAccelerator, but in further testing I even found W3TC to detect it on windows. Can you try to install with yum or similar instead of compile?

Just wanted to chime in… the latest version (0.9.6) of eAccelerator removes all manual page caching functions (such as eaccelerator_get and eaccelerator_put).

From this point forward, unless someone else commits to updating and maintaining that component of eAccelerator, the developer has stated the feature will likely not be returning. He is focusing only on the opCode caching component of the software and cutting out all extra features.

It seems eAccelerator is not a good option for page caching in W3TC as of the newest releases.

    Simply use an earlier release.

What is your recommendation then? Uninstall Eaccelerator and install APC or Memcache? Of the three, eaccelerator is undoubtedly the best result has given me.
Is there any possibility that W3TC include any solution in future versions so that eaccelerator could be compatible?
(Once again sorry my bad English, just hope you have understood me.)

Did you confirm the admin page is working?

Everything seems to be working perfectly. Eaccelerator is caching properly, but I still can not select from the options W3tc

Everytime I see a similar error the user later writes that a re-installation of the plugin (same version) works fine. The way the plugin works is it tries to use one of the necessary commands to see if a respective opcode is available and if it fails the setting is not available.

I have the same problem and I tried to reinstall the plugin on two different websites but EAccelerator is still not available. 🙁

    Any other suggestions?

I installed a previous version of eAccelerator but still didn’t workt. 🙁

I don’t have other suggestions, unfortunately I’m finding that xcache and eaccelerator are not as reliable as APC on servers. You can submit a bug submission report if you want and I will check it out, but the issue is random and hard to troubleshoot.

Had anyone found a way to get w3 total cache to work with eaccelerator v0.9.6.1

It works fine, the issue is always the installation of it on the server. It’s harder to get running than xcache or APC based on the reports I see.

    Thank you for your reply.

I have eAccelator installed but it cannot be selected in the w3 total cache drop down panel.

I also have memcached and that can be selected.
