    Hi,

W3TC has dramatically increased my page load, so thanks for that :)
when I run a Page Speed test, I see these suggestions:

The following publicly cacheable, compressible resources should have a "Vary: Accept-Encoding" header:

The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime. Specify an expiration at least one week in the future for the following resources:

Can I configure the plugin to address these issues?

    thanks
    Paul

Go to the browser cache settings tab and increase the value in the expires field to a value like 31536000.

    Thanks Frederick,

I did that but it didn't change anything.
Also, I enabled the minify for CSS but Page Speed still says I should minify.
maybe the Page Speed data is not reliable?

    the site is sideradesign.com

actually it might be the cloudflare cache that's messing this up

I disabled cloudflare, but i still get the same results from page speed. so it must be something else.
    any ideas?

I'm really not able to troubleshoot a site that has not been named. :)

http://www.webpagetest.org/result/101222_1Z_5AXN/1/performance_optimization/ - this is showing that you're not minifying or using browser caching etc.

I don't understand, Page cache and browser cache are enabled in the W3 settings.
Maybe it's the server? I'm on shared hosting.

I put this in header.php to compress the WordPress files

    <?php if (substr_count($_SERVER['HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING'], 'gzip')) ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); else ob_start(); ?>

That's irrelevant. Read the FAQ about minifying files.
