How much text are you adding?

This field stores in the database as TEXT data type, the same as WordPress excerpts.

A link to your form would help.

It’s more than 256 characters. The form isn’t live yet. It’s a job application with a couple statements at the bottom that exceed 256 characters, so I was using the Instructions form component.

Could you recommend another way to approach this (possibly using a different form component)?

My next step was to purchase the paid version, but if that has the same limitations, I’ll need to do something else. Even rewording the statements, they exceed 256 characters.
    Thank you!

TEXT can hold up to 65,000 bytes/characters.

If that is the case, then why is it truncating at 256? I have typed all input and then save the form and it gets truncated – multiple times with same result (yes… causes insanity :)).

Okay, that’s a bit of terminology mixup.

Instructions is a Field Type where you can type in a bunch of text to explain something about that section of the form.

What you are typing into is the Name of a particular field and that is limited to a certain character limit (right now). I do have an update planned that fixes this issue.

Whew… I was beginning to think I was succumbing to that insanity thing…

Got it, thanks! (Sorry for the fire drill!)
