video playlists don't work. im using the url:

    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5BF57CC7C199AA2D

    and the page returns:

[ERROR: Unable to parse URL, check for correct YouTube format]

im guessing youtube has changed it's playlist format. any ideas how to fix? thanks!

YouTube playlists don't work for me either

Inserting the url displayed in address bar displays only the first video from the playlist on my webpage; and the share link from below the video on YouTube displays: [ERROR: Unable to parse URL, check for correct YouTube format] on my webpage.

Also get the error message with the address from the share url from the playlist edit page

    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=xxxxxxxx

If you use the URL structure of the page you see when you click Play All (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=video_id&list=playlist_id&feature=plpp_play_all), the first video will be embedded, but there doesn't seem to be any way to view the rest of the videos in the playlist.

Yep, YouTube changed their URL structure on me. My plugin is looking for http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=XXX.

    I'll make the fix.

@Curtiss: That URL only plays the first video because it is actually the link to a single video (note the watch?v=XXX). The playlist ID is just also included in the URL so that YouTube knows what videos to display at the bottom of the page.

Anyway, I've added support for the newer playlist URLs locally and am just working on fixing WordPress 3.3 compatibility before releasing.

Thanks, Alex. I suspected that was the case; but after trying a bunch of the other URL structures, I figured I'd try that one.

Hit me up here or on Twitter if you need any help testing anything. Thanks, again.

This should be resolved in v6.3.2 which was released last night.

    Hello,

When I first tried to get a playlist to work, many moons ago, I had to figure out how to encode the URL. This is what I came up with, and I just tried it, it still works:

If you want to see it on my blog, its the second video at the bottom of this page.

My question is: Will upgrading the plugin break things that are already working for me?

    Thanks! :)

It shouldn't and if it does it's a bug which I'll fix. :)

    Alex,

I'll upgrade the plugin and try and break it then. :P

OK, I upgraded and seems to work.

Not sure if you can use this, but it took me a while to figure out how to get Facebook videos to embed using the generic Flash thingamabob. Maybe you can hardwire this into your plugin for other knuckleheads like me?

    [flash]http://www.facebook.com/v/152931551467846[/flash]

One caveat for folks who use this: Some videos require being logged in to Facebook to view. Not sure, but some might also require being friends there or Liking a page. So maybe add a notice on any pages that use FB videos...
