[Plugin: Videopress] Disable embed feature does not work in self-hosted WP (4 posts)

I have a self-hosted WP set up for a client with a videopress account that is (obviously) tied to a WPCOM account. They have a video that they want to post but they need to disable the embed functionality so no one can post this video to any other site.

I disabled it by unchecking the check box for "display embed code and allow external sites to embed this video" int he videopress options for the video but it is not showing up in our self-hosted WP. It appears it is seeing our self-hosted WP as "external site" and not showing the video for that reason.

I did a quick test on the WPCOM blog that the videopress is tied to and it works as intended.

Is there a work around for this to make the disable embed feature work correctly in the self-hosted WP environment?

You may add your self-hosted domain as an allowed embed site inside your WordPress.com blog's Media settings under "Restrict embed playback."

I am confused by the "restrict" instructions on VideoPress blog.

    1. I need to grab the embed codes (NOT the shortcode) from my VideoPress
    media library,
    2. insert it into a custom field on my self hosted wp site,
    3. and then have it restricted to just my self hosted site.

So far I have not been able to coordinate the settings.

If I make the code to be visible in order to copy it,
the embed codes remain visible on my self hosted site post
as well as in Video Press media library.

Can someone please give me step by step instructions. I need to know what to heck, uncheck at what stage of posting.

    Thanks,
    Spot

Same problem here... I would like to use embed code rather than short code in hopes that my videos will finally display in my RSS Feed.
