User Role Editor
[resolved] How to just allow create/publish/edit post and nothing else (6 posts)

I've tried every variation of settings using subscriber as a starting role, but the user is always capable of seeing certain plugins, settings, etc. I just want the user to have access to creating, editing and publishing their own posts.

Anyone have any success with just those capabilities? it seems that as soon as you modify the subscriber role for more, you open up a whole lot more.

Anyone have an idea or run into this same problem?

Did you tried standard 'Author' role? Start from it better. If you still see some dashboard menu items which you wish to disable for such users, these links could help to proceed:

Hi Vladimir - I've tried each role and ran into the same thing. I'm going to look at those links and see if I have better luck.

    Thanks!!

    Hi Lenny,

Finally, this plugin could help you assign needed only menu items to the custom created role:

Thanks Vladimir. The combination of the 2 plugins (Adminize and User Role Editor) gives me exactly what I want to do. Too bad I have to use 2 plugins though.. But, thank you for the help!
