User Role Editor
Capabilities limtied to certain fields of content type (1 post)

I am wondering whether it is possible to limit the capabilities of a custom role to just certain fields of a custom content type. For example, role 1 would have access to only five of 20 fields of a custom content type. role 2 would have access to seven of the 20 fields, etc.

My client is trying to create a listing type of custom content which the default (free) listing would be able to only list say, a few items of the content type, but to access more fields, they would have to pay a subscription. So, all the subscriber would need is role 2 (once subscribed) in order to get the ability to post additional content.

This functionality would be similar to Drupal's content construction kit (cck) module, which allows you to create permission to create or edit content on a field-by-field basis.

I have been looking for a plugin which helps me do that, but have not been successful so far.

Any advice you have would be appreciated.
