Who writes this very interested in understanding how the plugin was performed, user_access_manager. I am interested in developing a plugin I need to use for the realization of my thesis, and is closely related to yours.
We know that groups wp users for these roles and gives you a certain amount of capacity (depending on the user level) and so can get ACCESS to the post, categories, and others in the administration panel. Well, what we need is to do the same thing but adding something for the environment so seriously.
I need from the wp user they can form groups (that makes your plugin), but these groups should be assigned a role and this role a set of skills, to interact with the plugin I developed as a thesis which is nothing more a planner of projects, objectives, tasks, which will be given access to users according to whether the group to which they belong.
The user Mike and Andy (added through the administration panel that brings wp Intalacion, I use 2.8) I hope that within the group to network administrators when creating a project or a goal or a task, in my plugin so that we can permits management to (edit add, delete, ....) to this group. allowing other groups created can not access the projects that do not apply
As you can see has nothing to do with the post, category, or anything like wp, only interact with the plugin development for the thesis.
