Ignore this - it seems that its only on post publish that the short URL is created.

    Actually - I've found a problem.

I've got a plugin that uses the short URLs and it works fine when the post is published immediately

BUT if the user schedules the post then when its published there doesn't seem to a short URL for it.

    Hi SteveAtty,

By design/API, after the scheduled post is published, the short URL should be generated when the post is first requested (either via admin or when someone visits the site after the post publishes)... It isn't hooked to the post publishing action.

Maybe you could let me know what's the plugin you're using and I can look into it?

On a sidenote, I'm in the midst of my exams, so will look into this issue/improve on the short URL callback after my exams..

    Thanks

Gerald - its my own Wordbooker plugin and people wanted short url support and as people were using your plugin I coded for that first.

No major worries about it - concentrate on your exams and good luck.

    Hi SteveAtty,

    Is the issue solved yet?

FYI, I'm currently testing version 3.2-Beta on my side.

The URL will now be generated once the scheduled post is published.. That should solve the problem on your side?

If you want to test, let me know, I'll commit the beta online.

    Cheers
